I think this is really insane, too much musics to do some stages will have to share music, really, this is a insane work!

Punky may be right, after all while looking on MLPOnline's site for the news and resources they released the music album. For a pretty extensive looking game they had less than 20 tracks, I think 15 or 16 and some bonus tracks (18 in total?) . Also on another note since they released the sprites and resources of their's for free public use can we perhaps use some of the tracks to lessen the burden on poor Das?

I'm on this project for the music as well. However; I need to know what Synth's Das Deer is using. I don't want there to be a major difference in the sound and tone of the music for the game.

In my personal opinion this should be the music of the game, we can do more in the future if we can but for now we must focus on the most basic ones, as you can imagine some stages will share the same music:

1Ponyville theme

2hill theme

3ruins/castle theme

4swamp theme

5ancient forest theme

6underground/mine theme

7high mountain theme

8bonus stage theme

9menu theme

10bad moment theme

11calm moment theme

12hope/epic moment theme

13boss theme

Be adventurous and try and make something on that list for yourself. If it would fit in a SNES videogame it'll probably work, you'd be surprised.

Well, sometimes you can get away with a different tone in the music (especially if the area is greatly different), but there are some areas where it would be best to keep the music sounding similar in regards to the type of sound.
